One-Year Action Plan
Prior to Training
- Listen to your itraining introductory online session
- Review the B2G Success Starter
- Attend the three-day B2G Boot Camp
Following training
- Register on the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Visit www.ccr.gov.
- Register on Dynamic Small Business Search page.
- Register on the ORCA page (orca.bpn.gov)
One week after training
- Let your fingers do the walking. Look in the blue pages of the phone book to see
which government agencies are in your area.
- Go to militaryinstallations.dod.mil/ismart/MHF-MI/ and see which military installations
are in your state.
- Prepare your government marketing plan. List your goods or services. Besides that
list, be creative and think of how the federal government agencies can use what
you sell. Does a soldier need a raincoat, or does the forest service need training
services?
Two weeks after training
- Register for Fedbizopps notification service at www.fbo.gov based on your
product classifications.
- If you qualify as an 8(a), SDB, or HUBZone, begin the registration process.
- Create a final copy of your USP.
One month after training
- Call a Member Advisor at 1-888-376-9216 to discuss your marketing plan.
- Search the GSA Schedules e-Library (www.gsaelibrary.gsa.gov) and type in your product
or service and see where there is a match.
- Add your classifications to your business cards, letterhead, and promotional materials
— Small Business, Veteran-owned Small Business, etc.
Two months after training
Monthly
- Log on to www.b2ginstitute.com
and check out our weekly blog for industry news and updates.
- Contact your local PTAC and MBDA to register with them and stay in touch.
- Research a minimum of six prime contractors and register on their supplier diversity
pages.
Nine months after training
- Contact your Member Advisor again at 1-888-376-9216 to remain on track.
